The Burning Dragon Designs program held on Wednesday, June 28 turned out to be a great time! Participants learned to transfer their chosen design, learned safety when handling the iron, and burned their designs onto the wood. These photos will demonstrate the steps involved. If you did not sign up or did not have a chance to participate, don't fret, a wood burning program will be offered again on September 26. (Notice the beautiful free hand woman creation that was done!)

Game Night was awesome! There were lots of families enjoying the many board games that we had available, and the pizza was yummy. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) proved to be a hit with lots of teens and adults demonstrating their quick reflexes. Bemis would like to thank Country Buffet for providing desserts and beverages (along with their bee). Game Night was held on Friday, June 23.

Book Review: Heart on my Sleeve by Ellen Wittlinger (Reviewed by Lisa T.)
It's the end of an era for Cloe Gillespie. She is done with high school and ready to go to college. During the weekend at Cartwright, her potential college, she meets Julian. Julian is a singer and they hit it off immediately. Unfortunately, Cloe has a boyfriend back at home, who she thinks of as more like a best friend. She doesn't want to hurt Eli but dating him is kind of like dating her brother. Like any other high schooler Cloe's dramatic world is going into over-drive.
Heart on My Sleeve is written entirely out of emails, IMs, letters, and postcards. This book is recommended for highschoolers who know anything about friends, relationships, and crazy families. Follow Cloe, Julian, Eli, Kate, Carly, and Genevieve as they move on, grow up, discover themselves, and live through ever changing relationships.
